Choosing an international school, or any school for that matter, is a daunting task. You either put faith in what a schools says on their website, what you are shown when you visit the school for a day or on the recommendation of a friend or family member. You may be impressed by exam results or facilities but they do not tell you how happy your child will be or how quickly they will
adapt to a new environment. So, it is not until your child has been to a school or experienced it that you, as a parent, will truly know if you made the right decision or not. So, all I can say is that all schools are different, as is every student, and here at CIS we do our best to ensure that each and every student is made to feel welcome and is supported to be the best that they can be. We do not make promises we cannot keep or guarantee success but we will work with you to do our utmost to ensure that your child is happy to come to school and strive for success.
When selecting a school for your child, parents often look for a particular ‘brand’ of education, be it American, British, Canadian etc. and although here at CIS we are called Canadian, we do not follow a strict Canadian system. In fact we are more of an International school than a Canadian one. The educational philosophy here at CIS is one that is not taken from anyone country or any one academic system but one that uses the best parts from different systems throughout the world.
Through the use of one to one iPads from grades 6-12, combining with the successful introduction of our Contextual Learning programme in the middle school along with the rigors of the Cambridge IGCSE exams and the IB / CIS Diploma we hope that each student will leave our school with worthy qualifications to go alongside the life skills that we promote and instill in all our students. Our goal is not to look at what we produce but to look at the difference we make to each and every student.
I look forward to work with you to make your child the best that they can be.
