The Canadian International School played an integral part in making me the person that I am today. The combination of caring staff, dedicated faculty, and inspiring peers from all over the world showed me how to think with an open mind, and apply that understanding of diversity to everything I do. The values and skills that I was taught here through the IB program made me feel more confident in myself, especially when it came to pursuing my higher education abroad. Looking back, I am proud to say that I am an alumnus of CIS.
Medical Student – The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences CIS Alumnus - Class of 2011
CIS was the best educational experience I could have had, especially having gone to another international school based in Bangalore prior. I felt that the teachers here were more hands-on when it came to building on my weaknesses and the structure of their programming definitely played to my strengths. I graduated as a more confident person, well-rounded and ready for the world.
Entrepreneur. Class of 2002.
CIS exposed me to great diversity and a lot of different perspectives which shaped the way I think. At CIS, I learned a lot about my world and also a lot about myself. To be honest, I wouldn't be where I am and who I am if I hadn't had such a wicked awesome time and I'm so grateful for all the people at CIS who gave me skills and memories I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Studying Immune Biology at Brown University, Sophomore. Class of 2013
CIS to me, stands for Compassion, Integrity and Stability. I Joined CIS in 1999 with the goal of pursuing my professional tennis career. CIS helped re-schedule my classes in order to accommodate my 8 hours a day, tennis schedule. Faculty at CIS created an environment, focusing on our strengths and helped us develop the same. Management at CIS have phenomenal relationships with several top colleges across the globe. When we think of a school you want education, sports and a secure future. CIS provides children and parents with an unparalleled platform.
Managing Director: Ethos Wealth Management. Class of 2000.
The term 'diverse' is steadily becoming inane from overuse, and often applied in the most nebulous manner. However, when describing the student body at CIS, there really is no term more fitting... though open-minded, down-to-earth and caring compete to become the dominant designation. CIS is unique - there are many schools that have adopted the challenging IB curriculum, but few have such a truly diverse, yet tight-knit student body. It is rare to find a classroom with students from around the globe who focus on their similarities instead of arguing over differences. CIS is unique in the wealth of its diverse community of people - you learn as much from your peers as from your professors, and it keeps you humble, opening your eyes to other perspectives and your (most often all too surprising) personal degree of ignorance.
Studies Geology at Brown University. Class of 2014
Personally, I felt that the best part about CIS was its diversity. While I did not realize it at the time, the diverse environment created by the people who come from various backgrounds has taught me a lot. It taught me about other cultures and helped me learn more about all the various people who live in our world. Such knowledge is incredibly beneficial in a more globalized world and personally it has helped me overcome cultural barriers outside school.

CIS helped me to grow not only academically through an amazing IB program, but also grew my connections with wonderful friends and incredible teachers who ended up feeling like family. CIS became home.

Being an IB student at CIS allowed me to develop strong close relationships with my teachers, and utilize a multitude of opportunities by which I could engage myself in the local and global communities. IB is challenging, no doubt, but the CIS community is so supportive that the whole experience was nothing but rewarding.
Studied Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at University of Toronto. Class of 2014.
I joined CISB during my Junior Year of the IB curriculum with a lot of trepidation. I had never attended school in India let alone an IB school. I had studied my entire life in Saudi Arabia in multi-cultural American Schools. Moreover, I joined the school mid-way through the academic year and was quite apprehensive about how I would adjust. However, a pleasant surprise lay in store for me and the multi-cultural environment and wonderful teachers enabled me to assimilate very quickly. I look back fondly at my brief but memorable years at CISB which helped cement my US studies and career. Thank You CISB.
Class of 2005
CIS is a school that upholds its core values in every area of school life, inside and outside the classroom. Students and teachers are given a safe environment to voice their thoughts, be creative, collaborate, and be who they are. It is a school where Professional Development plays a vital role in helping teachers develop new ideas, and keeping up with new educational best practices. CIS is wonderful, warm, welcoming and exciting school to work in.

Five wonderful years … what more can I say? It has been a privilege and an honor to be part of a school that grew and grew, and then just became, better and better each year. The staff at CIS were very supportive, warm and friendly. A heart full of colorful memories, a belly full of spicy food and the lingering sweet scent of sandalwood. Thank you CIS, it’s been beautiful!

Almost every day for the past three years, I have come to school and am greeted by a wonderful group of students who are willing to share their perspectives, questions and insights both in class and one-on- one.
