Welcome from the IB office!

The Canadian International School in Bangalore welcomes students from around the world and we truly live up to the IB philosophy of Internationalism. At the IB level there is a wealth of experience as many of our teachers have taught the IBDP in several countries around the world. As for me, having lived in six countries and taught the IB in three of them, embracing this aspect comes naturally to me as a language teacher where communicating and sharing cultural awareness are at the forefront of my teaching

At CIS, we enjoy shaping young minds into the young adults they become. Many join us just for the last two years of school and are thrown deep into the rich and complex IB diploma programme.

There are so many facets to make the journey of the eighteen months an adventurous one. The students have the Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning to help guide them. As a school, we have specific coordinators for the Core areas of Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service which help make these aspects smoother for the students.

We strive to hone our students’ skills of critical thinking, research, self -management and leadership. Students are encouraged to explore a variety of possible career choices and with a dedicated university guidance counsellor who has made her profession at getting students into universities around the world they have all the guidance they could need.

As a 1-1 iPad school our students use technology in every subject and have numerous opportunities to improve their skills to help them in the future through the use of iTunes U, Managebac, Turnitin and Naviance to name a few of  the tools used daily in IB1 and IB2.
